The Lifetimes of Learning Podcast is a production of the Buddhist Discussion Centre Australia, a home-grown non-sectarian Buddhist Temple, founded in 1978. Buddhist Education Centre is a part of the Buddhist Discussion Centre Australia. Our vision and mission are to spread the Budda’s teachings to foster more wisdom and reduce suffering, to support the Buddhist communities and to help anyone who wish to learn and practice the Buddhist path. We offer the teachings and resources free of charge and ensure our volunteer teachers are easily accessible. We embrace a culture of professionalism, culturally adaptability, practicality, scholarship in all our activities. and Our current small community size has not limited us in our mission. The five hindrances are different types of dullness, distraction and disturbance that cover and suppress our mind preventing us experiencing clear, beneficial, and peaceful mental states. This talk introduces the hindrance of ill will, so we can understand how they function as negative mental states and what skills and methods we can learn and practice to let them go, reduce their intensity and eventually abandoning them completely.
